Local Search and You

One of our clients recently came to us asking how they could promote a new shop they were opening up in Orlando. They were worried simply adding the store location to their primary website wasn’t going to be enough. We created a short breakdown of things they needed to do and most of the items could also be done for any business.

On top of that list was promoting the new location on Google’s Local Business Center Search: Google Local Business Center.

Adding the new location to Google will often allow it to show in the maps section in searches. So, if someone is searching for “dry cleaners” and they are located in Orlando, there’s a good chance that Google will return a map of results of dry cleaners in orlando first, followed by typical textual listings beneath it.

Adding businesses this way often allows companies to show very quickly at the top of Google searches for their main keywords.
